ANATOMY OF AN AIRHED
*Not all 3LT AirHeds have the Pano Clamp or Pano Lock.
There are two clamp types - Pano & Switch. The pano
clamp has an orange locking knob (4) for releasing the
Plate, and a black knob (3) which locks and unlocks the
panning function.
NEVER undo any of the knobs without holding your camera.
The AirHed Switch is operated by sliding the switch (a) and
opening the lever (b) by 180 degrees. To lock, pull the lever
back to it’s original position.
To change the orientation from right to left handed and
vice versa, move the lever (b) into a 90 degree position.
Remove the plate and push in points (c) and (d), in doing
this you will release the switch enabling you to rotate and
change its orientation.
Prior to its first use, the Switch Clamp may need to go
through an easy setup process. This is because we want
our products to be as cross compatible as they can be,
in this case, being suitable for whatever release plate you
choose. Simply open the clamp (as previously shown)
insert your plate of choice in, then close the clamp using
the switch. Now with the provided Hex Key tighten the
clamp so your plate is secure.

IMPORTANT
The QR3P Release Plate included in all 3 Legged
Thing Tripod Kits does not have security bolts fitted,
as bolts are incompatible with the Peak Design
Capture System.
It is important that you tighten your release plate
onto the clamp completely and check, before
use. We recommend placing the orange knob or
switch handle, UNDER the lens, where it cannot be
accidentally released.
We have engineered the security cutouts into
each of our AirHeds, and an optional QR6 Release
Plate with security bolts is available to purchase
separately. The QR6 Plate is not compatible with the
Peak Design Capture system.
