your OCR 812 to the telephone company wall jack. An
RJ-11 modem cable is provided.
Configuring the OfficeConnect Remote 812 Hardware
To configure the OfficeConnect Remote 812 hardware,
follow these steps.
1
Select a Boot Option
from
the 4 DIP (Dual Inline Package)
switches on the back of the unit.
NOTE
:
Boot options only affect the operation of a unit
which does not presently have any configuration settings
(that is, the unit is new, the Configuration Reset button has
been pressed, or a delete configuration command has been
executed from the CLI or Remote 812 Manager interface).
See the section “OCR 812 Boot Mode Options” in Chapter
1.
2
Connect the DSL Modem Line. Use the modem cable
provided to connect the OCR 812 ADSL port to the service
provider wall jack.
3
Connect the Power.
Connect the power plug to the back of
the unit. Make sure the power plug is connected securely
to the OCR 812. Then, plug the unit into an electrical
outlet.
4
Connect to a Local LAN (select one):
Connect directly to a workstation
— Connect the
10Base-T cable into any LAN port. The MDI/X button
applies to Port 1 only and must not be pressed in to use
the LAN port furthest to the right position (Port 1) to
connect to a workstation.
You can connect up to four workstations directly to the
OCR 812 Ports 2, 3, and 4.
If you have four workstations, you can connect the
fourth one to Port 1 with the MDI/X button not pressed
in.
If you have more than four workstations, you can use
Ports 2, 3, and 4 to connect to the workstation.
