Token Errors -
This is the count of the number of times that the
active monitor station needs to generate a new token.
Frequency Errors -
This is a count of the number of times that a
ring-station detects a frequency error. A frequency error occurs
when a ring-station’s clock frequency differs from the ring clock
frequency by an excessive amount. Contact your network supplier
for advice on how to resolve the problem.
Soft Errors -
This shows the number of isolating soft errors that have
been collected and reported by the station. Soft-errors indicate
intermittent faults which temporarily disrupt normal operation of
the network. Soft errors may be caused, for example by the token
ring adapter entering and leaving the ring, or receive buffer
overflow. The ring expects to operate normally with a level of soft
errors from which the station is able to recover. An abnormal rise in
soft errors should be regarded as a warning to investigate.
BUTTONS:
CLEAR COUNTERS -
Clears the counters displayed on the screen. Use
this button to see how quickly the counters are changing over a
particular period of time. This button does not affect the counters
on the RingBuilder. Leaving this screen and then returning to it will
display the full value of the counters on the RingBuilder.
RESET COUNTERS -
Resets to zero the counters on the RingBuilder.
DELETE STATION -
Causes all the statistics for the station to be
removed. This facility is only permitted if the station state is ‘absent’;
that is, the station is not currently present in the ring.
Ring Module Status
This screen displays a list box showing the MAU modules belonging to
the selected service beside the slot number occupied by the MAU in
the MSH chassis. From this screen you can select a MAU to setup (see
