Integrating Bridging
and Routing
Your system integrates bridging and routing. You can assign multiple
ports to each subnet. See Figure 40.

Bridging switches traffic between ports that are assigned to the same
subnet. Traffic traveling to different subnets is routed using one of the
supported routing protocols. For information about implementing
bridging, see Chapter 7.
