If you forget the system password or the IP address of the Home Network
Gateway, you can enter console mode to reset them.

Use a null modem cable to connect from the COM port on the gateway to the
COM port of the computer.

Launch a terminal program, such as
HyperTerminal
.

Set the connection parameters to
19200 8-N-1
.

Reboot the gateway.
When the Status LED starts flashing, click
Enter
on the keyboard several times. A
series of messages will appear, followed by the console prompt, “>”.
In the console mode, you can reset the IP address and the system password of this
product. Remember to use the
SR
command to save changes. For example, to
change the IP address of the gateway and return the password to admin, type the
following:
