This handset is only compatible with Uniden D1700 series phone
sets. This is not a stand alone phone, this only works as an
additional to base, so this is an ADDITIONAL HANDSET .
Instructions:
DCX170 Handsets--General Information
-These handsets are compatible with Uniden phone models D1760,
D1780, D1785, D1788 ONLY. Before trying to register a handset,
verify that the handset and the phone system are in fact
compatible. You can register up to TWELVE handsets; if you have
more than twelve handsets already registered you cannot register
any more handsets. (To see how many handsets are registered,
press the intercom button on any handset that is already
registered and scroll up or down to see how many handsets are
listed). If you purchased your base unit USED you may need to
clear the base unit from any previously registered handsets
before adding more handsets.
DCX170--Registration Methods
-If the handset fits in the charging cradle portion of the MAIN
BASE UNIT, place it in the main base unit. The display of the
handset should say "Registering".
-If there is no charging cradle portion of your base unit,
follow the steps below:
-On the base, press MENU/SELECT to open the menus and then
scroll using the UP/DOWN arrows to Register Accy/Register
Handset. Press MENU/SELECT to select this option. The main base
should display “Registering”.
-On the handset, press and hold Pound (#) until the handset
display says Registering (about 2 seconds). Once the handset
reads “Registering”, you may release the # button.
-After about 30 seconds, the handset display should say
"Registration Complete".
After trying the above methods the handset fails to register:
-On the main base, press and hold the FIND button for roughly 5
seconds OR until the red LED charge light blinks on and off
continuously, then release the FIND button. (If there is no red
LED charge light on your base unit, follow this step accordingly
then release the button after roughly 5 seconds).
-On the handset, press and hold Pound (#) until the handset
display says "Registering" (about 2 seconds). Once the handset
reads “Registering”, you may release the # button.
-Pick up the handset and press TALK/FLASH to make sure you get a
dial tone (Press END to hang up).
