Your new Tyro terminal provides

both 3G and WiFi network

connectivity options. These can

be selected through the terminal’s

network configuration menu.

3G and WiFi connectivity are

available for use regardless of

whether you wish to operate

the terminal in standalone or

integrated mode. WiFi connectivity

assumes WiFi access at point of

operation.

Easy to transact

Your YOXIMO terminal

Thank you for choosing Tyro!

Please use this guide to easily

install and start using your new

EFTPOS terminal.

For security reasons, all terminals

are shipped in deactivated mode.

Once the terminal is connected to

a working power source, call Tyro

Customer Support to activate.

Quote your company’s trading

name and the serial number

located on the terminal base.

Once activated, the terminal will

display your company name.

Transactions below $100 can be

processed as contactless payments.

For contactless transactions over

$100, a PIN will be required.

To enable or disable settings for

tipping, cash-out, refunds, etc

go to

 Menu > Configuration.

Only use WPA2 to secure your

WiFi networks. WPA2 provides

stronger data protection and

network access control. Avoid

unsecured or WEP encrypted

wireless networks.

Ensure

your WiFi network password is

minimum eight characters.

No default admin password has

been assigned to the terminal.

During set-up, you will be asked

to enter your password. Choose

a secure numeric password.

No sequences/repetitions are

accepted. The admin password

is used to:

●

modify terminal settings

●

set/change passwords for

   tipping, refunds/voids, etc.

The admin password should only

be provided to individuals on

a need-to-know basis. You can

change your admin, refund or

tipping passwords by going  to

Menu >Change Passwords.

The terminal will automatically

enforce a temporary lock-out

after three or more unsuccessful

password attempts.

You should regularly change the

default password and security

settings on your router and

modem to protect your network.
Should someone who knows any

of your security passwords cease

employment, all security codes and

passwords should be changed.

Before we ship your terminal,

we have:

●

created a merchant account

●

assigned you a merchant ID

●

sent you an email with your

Merchant Portal password and a

link to verify your email address.

If you have not received the email

by the time your terminal package

arrives, check your spam folder

and call Tyro Customer Support

to confirm your email address.

The first time you switch on your

terminal, a set-up wizard will assist

you with configuration. It will allow

you to:

●

configure network settings

●

administer passwords

●

enable refunds, MOTO, cash-outs

●

choose your Power Profile

(No standby, Normal, or Max

power saving)

You can change the settings at

any time.

Transactions are called MOTO

(mail order/telephone order)

when the cardholder is not

physically present at the time of

payment. To avoid fraud:

●

never use MOTO if the

cardholder is present

●

when goods are picked up

     following MOTO orders,

payment should be completed

as a card present transaction.

MOTO transactions have a higher

chance of chargeback and are

conducted at your own risk.

Check your terminal package to

ensure the following items are

included:

●

Tyro EFTPOS terminal

●

power adapter

If any of the above items are

missing, please contact Tyro

Customer Support.

By default, each Tyro terminal is

configured to automatically settle

at midnight (local time). You can

change the settlement time:

●

on the terminal via

Menu >

    Automatic Settlement > Change

●

by calling Tyro Customer Support.

Transaction and daily reconciliation

reports are available on:

●

Tyro’s Merchant Portal

●

the Tyro application on the POS

●

the Tyro terminal via

 Menu>

   Settlement/Reports >

   >Reconciliation Report.

If you choose to use WiFi for

network connectivity, you can

either:

●

automatically have the terminal

scan for nearby WiFi networks.

Select the appropriate WiFi

network (SSID), and enter your

network password. If successful,

the terminal will connect

immediately to Tyro.

● or

manually enter WiFi details.

You need to know the exact

SSID, security settings, etc.

If you select 3G to communicate

with Tyro, you don’t need

to change the configuration

settings, because the terminal

automatically connects to Tyro’s

mobile carrier network.

Maintenance and Security

If a terminal is damaged, Tyro will

replace it and standard repair rates

will apply. If damage is caused by

misuse/neglect or if the terminal

is irreparable, replacement costs

beyond the standard flat repair

rates will apply.

Drain the battery completely before

recharging. Its removal from the

terminal will affect the accuracy of

the power consumption reading on

the display. Battery life is affected by:

●

Printer usage

●

Printer intensity

●

Network signal strength

(a poor signal will consume

more battery).

To order Tyro’s terminal paper

rolls, e-mail [email protected]. Please

specify the type of terminal.

Delivery time is 5-7 business days.

Fees may apply. Before installing,

ensure the paper is not wrinkled and

remove the seal. Unroll about 5cm.

Shut printer cover until it clicks.
