The modularDIM light control system consists of the core
module, the modularDIM BASIC, which works as the group
controller, and the extension components modularDIM SC
for saving and calling up of lighting scenes and the daylight control
device. The daylight-dependent control (modularDIM DM) of up to
3 light groups (continuous row systems) occurs depending on the
daylight available in the room that is detected by means of the light
sensor “sensor DAYLIGHT”.

* The momentary action switch inputs conform with the require-
ments of safety extra-low voltage. Any type of standard momenta-
ry action switch may be connected.
Note:
Please refer to the separate installation and operation manual for the
technical data of the modularDIM DM.
Installation Instructions
• Installation in switch cabinets on top hat rail 35 mm according
to EN 50022.
• The mains is connected to terminals L and N unswitched.
• To enable operation of several operation points, it is possible to
connect several momentary action switches or several presence
detectors in parallel at the corresponding inputs.
• The max. cable length of all momentary action switches as well
as that of the light sensor must not exceed a length of 100 m.
• Transmission of the DSI signal occurs with a functional extra-low
voltage (not a safety extra-low voltage). Please use only installa-
tion material designed for mains voltage installation with 230 V
50 Hz.
• The inputs and outputs for the momentary action switches, the
daylight sensor as well as the iX interface conform with the
requirements for safety extra-low voltage.
Important note:
If one of the safety extra-low voltage inputs or outputs is not con-
nected according to the requirements for safety extra-low voltage, all
the other inputs/outputs must be wired with installation material that
is suited for mains voltage installation.

the inputs All, I, II and III.

Note:
The modularDIM BASIC has a dimming value storage (memory func-
tion) which is recalled when it is switched on with the PD or during

iX (intelligent extension)
The iX terminal serves for the power supply of all modularDIM
extension components, and for data exchange between the group
controller modularDIM BASIC and the extension components.
Presence sensors (PD)
The modularDIM BASIC has the possibility to switch the groups I, II
and III separately over 3 motion detectors, or to switch all groups
together via one motion detector. For that purpose it is necessary to
bridge the 3 presence or motion detector inputs. The modularDIM
BASIC has 3 potential free presence or motion detector inputs (one
presence or motion detector per group).
Operation modularDIM SC
Note:
Operate the scene module modularDIM SC only in connection with
modularDIM BASIC. Connection of four momentary action switches
for storing and recalling of four lighting scenes.
Storing of lighting scenes
1. Set the lighting scene with the group momentary action switch
at the modularDIM BASIC.
2. Press scene key and hold for 10 seconds
3. Storage is acknowledged by the luminaires with short flashing
(LED for scene visualisation lights)
4. Release momentary action switch, scene is stored

the installation and commissioning of the modularDIM DM.

Das modularDIM Lichtsteuersystem setzt sich aus dem Kern-
stück modularDIM BASIC, welches als Gruppencontroller
arbeitet, sowie den Erweiterungskomponenten modular-
DIM SC zum Speichern und Abrufen von Lichtszenen und dem
Tageslichtsteuer gerät modularDIM DM zusammen. Die tageslichtab-
hängige Steue rung (modularDIM DM) von bis zu 3 Leuchtengruppen
(Lichtbänder) erfolgt in Abhängigkeit vom Tageslichtangebot im
Raum, das mittels des Lichtsensors sensor DAYLIGHT erfasst wird.

Installationshinweise
• Montage in Schaltschränken auf Hutschiene 35 mm gemäß
EN 50022.
• An die Klemmen L und N wird das Netz ungeschalten
angeschlossen.
• Um die Bedienung von mehreren Bedienungspunkten zu ermögli
-
chen, können mehrere Taster bzw. mehrere Bewegungsmelder an
den entsprechenden Eingängen parallel geschaltet werden.
• Die max. Leitungslänge sämtlicher Taster sowie des Lichtsensors
dürfen eine Länge von 100 m nicht überschreiten.
• Die Übertragung des DSI-Signals erfolgt durch eine Funktions-
kleinspannung (keine Schutzkleinspannung). Verwenden Sie daher
nur Installationsmaterial, welches für Netzspannungsinstallationen
230 V 50 Hz ausgelegt ist.
• Die Ein- bzw. Ausgänge für die Taster, den Tageslichtsensor sowie
die iX-Schnittstelle entsprechen den Anforderungen für Schutz-
kleinspannung.
Wichtiger Hinweis:
Wird einer der Schutzkleinspannungs-Ein-/Ausgänge nicht nach den
entsprechenden Schutzkleinspannnungsanforderungen verdrahtet, so
sind auch die anderen Ein-/Ausgänge mit Installationsmaterial, das
für Netzspannungsinstallation ausgelegt ist, zu verdrahten.

iX (intelligent extension)
Die iX Klemme dient der Stromversorgung sämtlicher modularDIM-
Erweiterungskomponenten, sowie des Datenaustauschs zwischen
dem Gruppencontroller modularDIM BASIC und den Erweiterungs-
komponenten.
Anwesenheitssensoren (PD)
Das modularDIM BASIC hat die Möglichkeit entweder über 3
Bewegungsmelder die Gruppen I, II und III separat zu schalten,
oder über einen Bewegungsmelder alle Gruppen miteinander zu
schalten. Hierzu ist es notwendig die 3 Bewegungsmelder-Eingänge
zu brücken.
Das modularDIM BASIC verfügt über 3 potentialfreie Bewegungs-
melder-Eingänge (je ein Bewegungsmelder/Gruppe).
Bedienung modularDIM SC
Hinweis:
Das Szenenmodul modularDIM SC nur in Verbindung mit modularDIM
BASIC betreiben. Anschluss von vier Tastern zur Speicherung und
zum Abruf von vier Lichtszenen.
Speicherung von Lichtszenen
1. Lichtszene mit Gruppentaster am modularDIM BASIC einstellen.
2. Szenentaster für 10 Sekunden gedrückt halten
3. Speicherung wird von den Leuchten durch ein kurzes Blinken
bestätigt (LED zur Szenenvisualisierung leuchtet auf)
4. Taster loslassen, Szene ist gespeichert

Für die Installation und Inbetriebnahme des modularDIM DM bitte
zusätzlich gesonderte Installations-/Bedienanleitung beachten.
