ALL OPERATIONAL DIFFICULTIES

If this unit does not function properly for any reason, replace the battery with a new high-quality battery

(see “Battery Replacement” section). Low battery power can occasionally cause any number of “appar-

ent” operational difficulties. Replacing the battery with a new fresh battery will solve most difficulties.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

Erratic readings, a faint display, or no display, are all indicators that the battery must be replaced.  Use a

screwdriver and remove the battery cap by turning the cap counterclockwise approximately a quarter of

a turn.  Turning the cap further than a quarter of a turn may damage the cap.  Replace exhausted battery

with a new 1.5 volt battery.  Make certain the positive (+) side is face up.  Replace the battery cover cap.

Do not overtighten the cap. Replacement battery Cat. No. 4032.
