Use
caution
when
moving
gas
operated
dryer.

line
stays

TIPS
The
RLE202
is
designed
to
rotate
in
a
clockwise
direction
only.
Rotating
the
brush
in
a
counter
‐
clockwise
direction
will
cause
the
brush
to
become
disconnected
and
stuck
inside
the
vent.
Use
a
cordless
adjustable
clutch
drill
at
a
low
setting
to
avoid
breaking
the
extension
rods.
Failure
to
use
the
Dryer/Blower
adapter
could
cause
damage
to
the
RLE202
tool
and
dryer.
Clean
dryer
vent,
back
of
dryer
and
surrounding
area
3
to
4
times
per
year.
Always
attach
rods
together
with
two
pairs
of
pliers
to
ensure
they
are
tight.
After
tightening,
use
electrical
or
duct
tape
to
wrap
the
rod
connections
so
they
don’t
come
loose
while
cleaning
the
duct.
SAFETY
TIPS
Do
not
use
excessive
force
when
pushing
the
brush
through
the
vent.
This
can
cause
personal
injury,
damage
to
the
vent
or
may
break
the
brush
off
in
the
vent.
Add
one
rod
at
a
time
as
you
push
the
brush
into
the
vent.
Always
attach
the
Dryer
Blower
Adapter
when
using
the
dryer
to
blow
the
lint
out
of
the
vent
while
rotary
brushing.
The
adapter
will
keep
the
brush
from
damaging
the
dryer.
Eye
protection
and
a
dusk
mask
is
recommended.
INITIAL
INSPECTION
Check
material
used
for
the
venting.
If
possible,
you
should
replace
foil
or
white
vinyl
with
rigid
or
semi
‐
rigid
all
Metal
venting.
The
RLE202
will
clean
all
types
of
venting.
Use
care
when
cleaning
foil
or
white
vinyl
vents.
Turn
dryer
on
in
heat
mode
and
check
outside
to
see
if
there
is
air
flowing.
If
there
is
a
screen
over
the
outside
vent,
remove
and
discard.
Do
not
use
a
screen,
it
will
cause
a
backup
of
lint.
IF
VENT
HAS
NO
AIRFLOW
Turn
off
dryer.
Attach
Blockage
Removal
Tool
to
the
end
of
the
extension
rod
and
tighten
with
nut.
Insert
tool
in
vent
and
turn
clockwise
by
hand
while
moving
back
and
forth.
If
needed,
add
more
rods
until
blockage
is
reached.
Slowly
remove
tool
while
turning
clockwise.
Turn
dryer
back
on
and
check
for
air
flow.
(Note:
If
there
is
still
no
airflow,
check
duct
for
structural
issues.)
IF
VENT
HAS
AIRFLOW
Remove
exterior
vent,
louvers,
or
tape
open
trap
door
so
the
brush
will
not
damage
the
outside
when
it
reaches
the
end
of
the
vent.
CLEANING
THE
DRYER
DUCT
–
OPTION
1
(ENTERING
THE
DUCT
FROM
THE
OUTSIDE
USING
SHOP
‐
VAC
INSIDE)
Make
sure
dryer
is
off
and
unplugged.
Move
it
away
from
the
wall.
Remove
the
vent
hose
from
the
back
of
the
dryer
and
attach
the
Vacuum
Adapter
to
the
vent
hose.
Use
duct
tape
to
hold
the
Vacuum
Adapter
in
place.
Connect
an
electrical
Leaf
Blower
or
Shop
‐
Vac
to
the
Vacuum
Adapter
and
turn
it
on.
If
the
vent
hose
collapses,
turn
off
the
Shop
‐
Vac
immediately.
There
could
be
structural
damage
in
the
vent.
