Carefully Read these instructions before using this product
This product is designed to minimise the risk of/provide protection to the legs against accidental contact
with a hand held chainsaw machine. However, always remember that no item of PPE can provide full
protection and care must always be taken while carrying out the risk related activity.
Performance and limitations of Use – The products have been tested in accordance with EN 381-5: 1995 for Class
1 performance (protection at linear chainsaw speeds up to 20 m/s)
The products are not designed to offer protection to the wearer against any other hazard e.g. against welding,
chemicals, contact with electrical current.
Compatibility – To optimise protection, in some instances it may be necessary to use these products with suitable
protective boots, gloves, helmet, and ear defenders. In this case before carrying out the risk related activity consult
your supplier to ensure that all your protective products are compatible and suitable for your application.
Fitting and Sizing – To put on and take off the garment always take care, fully open the zip. Only wear garments of
a suitable size. Products which are either too loose or too tight will restrict movement and will not provide the
optimum level of protection. The size of these garments is marked on a label attached inside and they are available
in the following sizes, XS, S, M, L, XL. Use of braces is recommended.
EN 381-5 Design A Class 1 - Refers to item numbers SS – 7AZ/150/650/660/850 Chainsaw Protective Trouser
with protection to the front of the trouser plus 50mm on both the outside of the left leg (side seam) and on the inside
of the wearer’s right leg (inside seam). Protection approximately 20cms upwards from the crotch with a gap of no
more than 3cms in the middle.
EN 381-5 Design C Class 1 - Refers to item number SS–7CZ150/750/760 Chainsaw Protective Trouser with
protective area over the entire front of both trouser legs plus protection approximately 20cms upwards from the
crotch with a gap of no more than 3cms in the middle. Protective area at the back, roughly up to the crotch.
Marking: The product is marked with:
