This document is a short recap on how to drive a forklift truck, and should in no way be a substitute for the instructions required by
Directive 2006/42/EC Annex I section 1.7.4.
The instructions, which should be read and understood by the operator beforehand, are available in the forklift truck’s cab. All of the
instructions, including safety instructions, in the manual should be implemented and enforced. The operator must have received proper
training and must comply with the rules in force on road traffic.
BASIC INSTRUCTION SHEET

Before starting, check:

That the battery cut-off is unlatched.

The condition of the tyres.
þ
The hydraulic oil level.
þ
The engine oil level.
þ
The water level in the fuel pre-filter.
þ
The brake fluid level.
þ
The air filter.
þ
The fuel level.
þ
The lights.
þ
The cleanliness and setting of the mirrors.
Starting the machine
1 - Unlatch the battery cut-off.
2 - Get into the cab and close the door.
3 - Sit down in the seat and put on the seat belt.
4 - Deactivate the emergency stop button.
5 - Press down on the accelerator pedal.
6 - Turn the ignition key.
7 - Activate the reversing shift (FNR) to move forward or reverse.
8 - Choose your steering mode.
9 - Move up a gear.

A warning lamp indicates an operating fault.
Some indicator lamps are accompanied by an audible signal. Stop the forklift truck and
contact your dealer or rental company as quickly as possible.

Steering selection
Never change the steering mode whilst driving.
1 - Front steering wheels (road mode).
2 - Front and rear steering wheels in opposite direction
(tight turning).
3 - Front and rear steering wheels in same direction
(crab steering).
