REPLACEMENT OF THE THERMOPILE

for GAS GRIDDLE PART #022770

When the removal of the thermopile presents a challenge due to the lack of working area
available, the following steps will help expedite the removal and replacement.

Removal:

1.

Turn manual gas valve off.

2.

Allow griddle to cool down to a safe working temperature.

3.

Remove control panel by removing four screws and support the panel to prevent
damage to wiring or other components.

4.

Disconnect pilot tube from gas valve and carefully bend the tube to the side; do not

kink tube.
5.

Unscrew thermopile connection from gas valve.

6.

Using a 7/16" - 18 point deep socket,  place over thermopile hold down nut and

remove. 

Replacement:

1.

Insert bulb into pilot burner bracket and tighten. 

2.

Run wire leads of thermopile over to the gas valve and connect wires as shown below.

3.

Reinstall pilot tube to the gas valve.

4.

Reinstall control panel with four screws.

5.

Turn on manual gas valve and  start griddle.
