Wiring Harness Connections

All connections are made along the lower end panel of the MM80-HR. The

14-pin plug with wire leads is used to make power and speaker related

connections. Carefully plan the layout of your system prior to routing wires and

making connections. Refer to the table below when making connections.

Disconnect the NEGATIVE battery post connection and secure

the disconnected cable to prevent accidental reconnection.

This is an essential safety precaution during installation!

Connection

POWER

+12V DC

Red

Connect to the positive (+12V) battery post.

Always

install an appropriate fuse within 18 inches (45 cm) of

a +12V connection.

If this is the only device using the

connection point, use a 15 amp fuse.

IGNITION

+12V DC

Yellow

Connect to a switched positive (+12V) source. This can be

an ignition controlled, accessory circuit or a vessel battery

equipped with a main disconnect switch.

Always install

an appropriate fuse within 18 inches (45 cm) of a +12V

connection.

If this is the only device using the connection

point, use a 5 amp fuse.

GROUND

Black

Connect to a clean, solid metal grounding point or to the

NEGATIVE battery post.

Ideally, the +12V DC and Ground

connections of the source unit and amplifiers should be

made at the same location to minimize noise.

AMPLIFIER ON

Blue/White

This wire provides a positive (+12V) turn-on voltage to

activate aftermarket amplifiers.

Safety Considerations

•  Install this product in a dry, well-ventilated location that does not interfere with

other vessel safety or electronic devices.

•  While this product is designed to be water-resistant, it should never be

submerged under water or exposed to heavy spray/splashing.

•  Do not mount this product in the engine compartment or in any areas of

extreme heat.

•  Securely mount this product so that it does not come loose in the

event of a collision/sudden jolt or as a result of repeated vibrations during

normal operation.

•  Check before drilling to make sure that you will not be drilling into an exterior

panel/hull, fuel tank, gas/brake line, wiring harness, or other vital system.

•  Do not run system wiring outside or underneath the vessel. This is an extremely

dangerous practice, which can result in severe damage/injury.

•  Protect all system wires from sharp edges (metal, fiberglass, etc.) by

carefully routing them, tying them down and using grommets and loom

where appropriate.

•  Secure all wiring as needed, using cable ties or wire clamps to protect them

from moving parts and sharp edges.

Control Functions

Audio system control functionality of your MM80-HR is provided using

compatible multi-function displays (MFD) and can vary by MFD. Refer to your

MFD manufacturer for device compatibility information.

Panel Connections

Remaining connection points are designed to interface with audio equipment,

media devices and vessel networks. Depending on your specific equipment,

you may or may not use all of the connections. Carefully plan the layout of your
