Pack 2 (SP2) with Advanced Security Technologies in the
second half of 2004. Before upgrading to SP2, you may
need to obtain additional SP2-compatible software
updates or take other steps to prepare your PC.

obtain any required software updates and downloads.
Keep Your PC Secure
Microsoft’s Service Pack 2 for Windows XP includes
improvements to help ensure the security of your
Windows XP PC. Microsoft strongly recommends that
you look for this important update and install it when
available. Once SP2 is released, you can download it
from the Microsoft Web site, or order a CD directly
from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/protect/hp
Protecting Your PC Before Receiving SP2
Prior to the release of SP2, there are some easy things
you can do to help protect your PC. HP and Microsoft
recommend that you do the following:

Activate a firewall on your system. Use the Internet
Connection Firewall (ICF) that is included with
Windows XP, or a third-party firewall product to help
protect your system. For information and instructions,
double-click the
Help and Support
icon on your
desktop, and enter
ICF
in the search box.

Install antivirus software and make sure to keep the
virus definitions updated.
