Applicability
S.M.A.R.T. Phone technology is available in a wide range of models. This manual applies to the
following S.M.A.R.T. Phones equipped with a 12-button keypad

Model 276S
Flush-panel 12-Button S.M.A.R.T. Phone
This is a wall-mounted telephone designed for indoor use.

Model 277S
Flush-panel Auto-dial/Ring-down S.M.A.R.T. Phone
The auto-dial/ring-down version of the Flush-panel S.M.A.R.T. Phone has no keypad. The
Model 277S S.M.A.R.T. Phone is shipped from the factory configured for use on a ring-down
circuit.
Suitability for Use
S.M.A.R.T. Phones are suitable for connection to the following types of telephone lines:

Direct Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN)
•
Private Branch Exchange (PBX)
•
Private Automatic Branch Exchange (PABX)
•
Ring-down Circuit (Model 277S)
Connection may
not
be made to:
•
Pay phone extension
•
Shared service (party) lines
