Introduction 

Before you start assembling the 1-Wire Extender 3 and putting the device into operation, read these operating 
instructions carefully until the end, especially the section referring to safety instructions. 
 

Product description 

We call the product a 1-Wire Extender or distribution module. However, the terms patch panel, extender, data 
distributor or terminal board are also used. 
The 1-Wire Extender 3 is intended as a distributor for 1-Wire networks. The 7 push-in terminals mean that no 
tools are required for connection. The 1-Wire Extender 3 greatly accelerates and extremely simplifies the 
installation and cabling of 1-Wire networks.  The 1-Wire Extender 3 can be used, for example, as a central 
distributor after a bus coupler / controller or 1-Wire Hub. 
Equipped with an 8-pole modular socket, several 1-Wire Extensions 3 can be elegantly connected by CAT 
network cable can be connected via a 1-Wire Extension 2 distributor. 
The 1-Wire Extension 3 is ideally suited for sub-distribution boards or floor distributors in combination with DIN rail 
modules.  
 
The various 1-Wire extenders form a coordinated cabling system.  
For coupling to control systems, we recommend the use of an ESERA 1-Wire Controller. This simplifies the 
software connection enormously due to the many automatic functions.
