PLUMBERS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

NAPOLEON WALL BASIN/BATH MIXER

Hot and cold water inlet pressures should be equal.

Maximum hot water temperature : 80 C.

IMPORTANT

Pressure & Temperature Requirements.

New Regulation :-500 kPa maximum static pressure

at any outlet within a building. (Ref. AS/NZS 3500.1)

Static inlet pressure range : 150 -1000 kPa

+ Not supplied.

* All pipework must be thoroughly flushed prior to installation,

as foreign materials may block the flow regulating device and

reduce the flow of water. Note: Aerator insert housing must be

retightened to prevent removal by hand.

Important Information

* Not suitable for gravity feed systems.

Basin outlet is fitted with a flow regulated aerator insert. This

low flow rate may not be suitable for connection to some

Instantaneous Gas Water Heaters, some Tempering Valves,

some Solar Water Heaters & some Thermostatic Mixing Valves.

Check with the manufacturers of these products. Note:- An

aerator insert kit (Part No. SP2001), is available if required.

For applications where flow regulation is not suitable (e.g. bath)

a full flow aerator insert has been provided within the packaging.

To convert the basin outlet to a bath outlet, refer to 'Replacing

Aerator Insert'

* Brazed connections should NOT be made directly onto the

mixer, as excessive heat will cause permanent damage.

*

HOT & COLD WATER INLET PRESSURES MUST BE EQUAL.

*

Installation

2)Fit the mounting plate (11) onto a suitable noggin in the wall &

secure using screws through the holes in each corner.

Important :

The mounting plate (11) must be installed horizontal & parallel

to the face of the wall studs to ensure correct installation.

To avoid damaging the decorative finish, do not remove the

protective sleeve until installation has been completed.

Complete the connections. (Fig. 2). Check all connections for

leaks and the mixer for correct operation.

Note: Pipework and fittings are not supplied.

*

*

3)

The wall outlet must be installed to the left hand side of the

handle (1) (Fig.3).

*

1)Fit suitable fittings to the connection ports of the mixer (9) (Fig.2).

When facing the mixer, the connections should be as follows:

Hot water inlet connection 'H' to the left.

Cold water inlet connection 'C' to the right.

Mixed water outlet connection, vertically upwards.

Note: A suitable elbow fitting (13

+

) should be fitted to the hot inlet

(Fig. 2). Attach the mixer body (9) & the lugged elbow (12) to the

mounting plate (11) with screws (10) and tighten using a suitable

screw driver.

Fit wall outlet (14) onto the spigot (17), then carefully push it

firmly against the cover plate while tightening grub screws (21)

using the 2.5mm allen key (3) provided. Take care that the top face

of the wall outlet is horizontal before tightening screws (21). (Fig.4)

Turn on Hot and Cold water supplies and check operation.

8)

7)

5) Fit handle (1) taking care that it is pushed fully onto cartridge

stem, tighten screw (2) using the 2.5mm allen key (3) then fit

plug (4).

4)Carefully slide the cover plate (5) onto the mixer body (9),

then push the cover plate firmly against the wall/tile face. (Fig. 1).

Check that the thread on the lugged elbow (12) is the correct

length as shown (Fig. 4). Cut to length if required ensuring

end face is square. Apply thread tape to the thread.

Important: Care must be taken that thread tape cannot

become dislodged and block the flow regulating device,

causing a reduction in water flow. To ensure correct

installation, length of exposed thread must not exceed 10mm.

6) Screw the spigot (17) onto the thread of the lugged elbow (12)

using a 10mm allen key (15

+

) untill the cover plate (5) is held

securely against the wall/tile face. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.

Apply suitable lubricant to 'O'Rings (16).

Replacing Cartridge (Fig. 1)

1) Turn off hot and cold water supplies.

Carefully remove plug (4) before using a 2.5mm allen

key (3) to loosen grub screw (2) and remove handle

(1). Remove cap (6) taking care not to damage the

decorative finish. Unscrew nut (7) then lift out old

cartridge (8).

Ensure inside face of mixer body (9) is clean. Check

that seal is in position in base of new cartridge (8).

Fit new cartridge (8) into mixer body (9), taking care

that two lugs on base of cartridge (8) fit into mating

holes in mixer body (9).

4)Screw on nut (7). Important:- Nut (7) should be

tightened to a torque of 10 Nm.

5)Replace cap (6), tightening by hand. Fit handle (1)

taking care that it is pushed fully onto cartridge stem,

then tighten grub screw (2) by using allen key (3).

Replace plug (4) taking care not to damage the

decorative finish.

6) Turn on water supplies and check operation.

Replacing Aerator Insert (Fig. 4)

2) Remove seal (18) & aerator insert (19) from aerator

housing (20). Check that aerator housing is clean.

Deposits of lime can be removed by washing in a

vinegar solution.

1) Carefully remove aerator housing (20) from wall

outlet (14), taking care not to damage the decorative

finish.

3) Fit new aerator insert (19) into aerator housing (20)

followed by seal (18) then screw assembly into wall

outlet (14) and tighten securely (to prevent removal by

hand).
