Overview of Product

The PM300 is a power booster interface module that fits inside of an electric latch pullback exit device. When installed in the exit device 

it typically allows for a much longer wire run from the power supply to the exit device (typically up to 700’ with 18/2 wire) than the exit 

device manufacturer’s original recommendations. This is great solution for projects that were pre-wired with too thin of a gauge wire or 

where a discerning architect wants all the power supplies consolidated in a central room for simplified maintenance.   Additionally, this is a 

great solution when the original exit device manufacturer’s power supply is not available or is cost prohibitive.  

  

Here’s how the PM300 works – When the exit device is triggered, the power supply sends power to quickly charge the PM300.  Within 

500ms, the PM300 releases its high current pulse to the exit device solenoid giving it what it needs to retract the latch bolt. Once the latch 

bolt is retracted, the PM300 switches to the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) mode that reduces the current and allows the solenoid to 

remain energized continuously, if desired.  This unit is also equipped with a mode switch that allows the option of High Output mode for 

those applications the require a higher pulse (special power supply required).

Relays:   We recommend that minimum 5A relays are used with the PM300 when used with  

 

 

 

 

 

 

power supplies other than those listed below.

 in Standard Mode: 

The PM300 works best with the Command Access PS1N, PS2, PS2BB & all PS5 series regulated power supplies. The PM300 will also work 

with most Regulated power supplies rated at 24VDC and 1.5A or higher. Although we do not recommend using power supplies that we 

have not thoroughly tested with the PM300, if you choose to do so anyway we recommend you consider the following:

Wires directly to the solenoid for most solenoid activately devices.  Adapter cables are offered 

for numerous manufactures, such as, Adams Rite, Corbin/Yale, Precision, and more.

Models:

If the output fuses are glass type, they will need to be rated at minimum of 3.5 A. If the fuses are the resetable type, they should 

have a trip rating of 1Amp or higher and a hold of a 1/2 Amp or greater.

If these values are not listed, the power supply manufacturer should be able to give you this information.  We recommend that you consult with the power supply 

manufacturer to confirm that if replacing the fuses with a higher value is necessary that doing so will not damage the power supply or create any kind of safety risk)

(Note: Not compatible with Adams Rite, Dorma, Yale, Corbin Russwin, Precision latch retraction power supplies)
