(SHEET 1 of 2)

Hot and cold water inlet pressures should be equal.
Static inlet pressure range : 150-1000 kPa

IMPORTANT

Pressure & Temperature Requirements.

Maximum hot water temperature : 80 C.

New Regulation:- 500 kPa maximum static pressure

at any outlet within a building. (Ref. AS/NZS 3500.1)

Installation Requirements.

The installing plumber is responsible for waterproofing

all penetrations for Taps in Shower areas at installation

by a proprietary flange system or a sealant.(Ref AS3740)

PLUMBERS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

*

*

Installation

Fit mixer body (16) onto a suitable mounting plate or

noggin in the wall and secure using screws (not supplied)

through the holes in its base. When facing the mixer, the

connections should be as follows:

Hot water inlet connection 'H' to the left.

Cold water inlet connection 'C' to the right.

Outlet to shower 'S', vertically upwards.

Outlet to bath 'B', vertically downwards.

Check all connections for leaks and mixer for correct operation.

Important :

Mixer body (16) must be installed square to wall/tile face, to

ensure cover plate (8) sits flush.
To avoid damaging the decorative finish, do not remove the

plastic protective sleeves until installation has been completed.

1)

All pipework must be thoroughly flushed prior to installation.

*

Important Information

2) Pass the sleeve (7) through the cover plate (8) &

'O'Ring (8a), place the cover plate (8) over the plastic inserts

(6 & 14) then screw sleeve (7) partially into the thread of

nut (9) on mixer body (16). Pass the diverter sleeve (13)

through the cover plate & 'O'Ring (8b) & screw into diverter

nut (15). Carefully tighten the sleeve (7) & diverter sleeve

(13) equally to fully compress the foam seal (9c) against the

wall/tile face, taking care not to damage the decorative finish.

Important: The cut-outs in the diverter sleeve (13)

must be in horizontal alignment when the sleeve is

tightened against the wall cover plate (Fig.2).

Brazed connections should NOT be made directly onto the

mixer, as exccesive heat will cause permanent damage.

*

Final install must be checked at rough-in stage (step 1).

*

This mixer accommodates in-wall depths from 65 - 75mm. For

installations with less than 75mm, the handle insert (6) must

be cut by using spacer (4) as a template. (Step 3 & Fig.4.)

*

This mixer is fitted with a 'Progressive' cartridge. To operate

the cartridge, the handle is rotated clockwise (Fig.3). The first

90° of handle rotation will only select cold water, avoiding

unnecessary use of hot water. Further rotation of the handle

will deliver a mixture of hot and cold. When the handle is

rotated fully clockwise, only hot water will flow.

*

The timber handle MUST NOT be used in a Shower

installation, it is only suitable for bath installations.

*

* All pipework must be thoroughly flushed prior to installation.

Turn on Hot and Cold water supplies and check operation.

6)

Rotate the plastic insert (14) anti-clockwise to the stop position.

Slide the hexagonal washer (12) onto the plastic insert (14) until

the washer rests against the diverter sleeve (13). Fit diverter

knob (11) onto insert (14)  with the position indicator line

marking at the top (Fig. 3). Rotate the knob (11) a quarter turn

clockwise (position marking indicating to the right) and depress

the knob until it bottoms and there is a small gap between the

knob & the cover plate (8). Now rotate the knob (11) clockwise

to the stop. The position marking is now indicating the bath

position. Rotating the knob anti-clockwise to the stop will select

the shower position.

5)

THE TIMBER HANDLE MUST NOT BE INSTALLED IN A

SHOWER AREA.

If required, using the

brass handle spacer (4B) as a template,

place the flat side of the spacer against the front surface of the

sleeve (7) & scribe a line around the plastic insert (6) as shown

(Fig.4). Carefully cut the plastic insert (6) along the marked line

and remove any burrs, then slide the brass handle spacer (4B)

onto the plastic insert (6) until spacer rests against the sleeve (7).

When the timber handle is to be fitted:-

If required, using the

plastic handle spacer (4A) as a template,

place the flat side of the spacer against the front surface of the

sleeve (7) & scribe a line around the plastic insert (6) as shown

(Fig.4). Carefully cut the plastic insert (6) along the marked line

and remove any burrs, then slide the plastic handle spacer (4A)

onto the plastic insert (6) until spacer rests against the sleeve (7).

When the metal handle (1) is to be fitted:-

3)

Rotate the plastic insert (6) anti-clockwise to the stop position.

Fit handle (1) onto insert (6) with the handle fixing scew hole

pointing vertically downwards as shown (Fig.2). While holding

the handle (1) firmly against the spacer (4), tighten grub

screw (2) using the 2.5mm allen key (3).

4)

Replacing Cartridge (Fig. 2)
Turn off hot and cold water supplies.

1)

2) Using a 2.5mm allen key (3), loosen grub screw (2) then remove

handle (1) & spacer (4). Undo screw (5) using a 2.5mm allen key

then remove handle insert (6). Rotate the diverter knob (11)

midway between bath & shower (position marking indicating to

the right) & pull the knob (11) to remove. Take out the hexagonal

washer (12). Unscrew sleeve (7) & diverter sleeve (13) and

remove cover plate (8), taking care not to damage the decorative

finish. Unscrew retaining nut (9) (32mm A/F) then lift out old

cartridge (10).

Ensure inside face of mixer body (16) is clean. Check that seals

are in position in base of new cartridge (10). Fit new cartridge (10)

into mixer body (16), taking care the lug on base of cartridge (10)

fits into mating hole in mixer body (16). Screw on nut (9).

Important: Nut (9) should be tightened until solid. Rotate the

cartridge (10) spindle anti-clockwise to the stop position then fit

insert (6) ensuring the flat sides of the insert are in

horizontal/vertical alignment. Small adjustments can be made to

the alignment by loosening nut (9) and rotating the cartridge

slightly before re tightening the nut. Retain the insert (6) to the

spindle using screw (5). Replace the cover plate (8)

(see installation step 2).

3)

4)Slide the handle spacer (4) onto the plastic insert (6) until the

spacer rests against the sleeve (7). Fit handle (1) onto insert (6)

with the handle  fixing screw hole pointing vertically downwards

as shown (Fig.2). While holding the handle (1) firmly against the

spacer (4), tighten grub screw (2) using the 2.5mm allen key (3).

To replace diverter knob (11) go to step 5 (Installation).

Turn on water supplies and check operation.
