This fan is designed to mount between
exterior walls 4-1/2" to 9-1/2" in thickness.

The exterior wall cap is to be mounted to
1 x 2" frame (casing) secured to the
exterior wall.  If the exterior wall sheathing
is not plywood you will be required to add
support and secure the frame (casing) &

exterior wall cap. (fig 1)

BEGINNING THE
INSTALLATION

Remove the motor bracket assembly
(which includes the bracket / fan motor
/ & blade) from the fan housing.  Loosen
the 2 screws which secure the bracket in
place – Once loosened enough carefully
maneuver the motor bracket so the
screw heads clear the keyhole slots.
Carefully remove the motor bracket
assembly and place it where it will not
get damaged.  Remove the inner
housing from the outer housing (it is
slide in place).  Along with the fan will
be packaged the wiring compartment,
and wiring compartment cover & motor
receptacle, along with 2 mounting
screws.

MOUNTING THE HOUSING

Choose the best location to mount the
housing on an interior wall.  Make sure
there are no studs, or electrical/
mechanical utilities where you have
selected.

1. Once you have selected the best
location on the interior of the house
transfer that location to the outside of
the house and check that there are no
obstructions / and clearance for the fan
to operate properly.
2. Once the installation has been checked cut a 8-1/4" dia hole in
the interior wall where the fan is to be located.
3. Drill a small hole through to the outside in the center of the
8-1/4" dia hole so you can properly locate the exterior wall cap.
4. On the siding of the outside wall layout a 14-1/2" x 14-1/2"
square with the small hole (drill in step 3) in the center. (fig 2)
5. Cut out the square hole. – ONLY CUT THE EXTERIOR WALL
SIDING DO NOT CUT THE SHEATHING UNDERNEATH. (fig 3)
6. Once the siding is cut nail down all the loose ends of the siding.
7. In the center of the 14 -1/2" square mark and cut a 8 -1/4" dia
hole in the wall sheathing.
8. Install 1" x 2" casing
strips for support on
edges of the 14 -1/2"
square hole.  These casing
strips are to be secured to
plywood sheathing via
screws or nails.  If
sheathing is not plywood
you will have to add
support. (fig 4)
9. On the interior flange of
the wall cap apply a
generous amount of
caulking.
