2.3.7 Connecting to the Network
When the SIM card has been successfully opened
your mobile phone will automatically search for a
useable network (“
Searching
” will be displayed on the
screen). When the connection is made, the name of
the network operator will appear in the middle of the
screen. At this point your mobile phone is on standby,
in addition to dialling and receiving calls, you may also
perform the following:
Press the
right soft key
to enter the name
card style phonebook.
Press the
left soft key
to enter the function
menu (please refer to chapter 4).
Note: If “Emergency only” is displayed on the
screen, this means that you are already outside the
normal coverage of the network area, but you can
still transmit emergency calls depending on the
strength of your signal.
Your phone supports GPRS service. If your
network operator has activated your GPRS service
and your phone is within the GPRS network area,
