Sky-USB BOX Quick Installation Guide 

 

 

1.

 

Sky-USB BOX software Installation: 

Execute the Setup file in the CD:\SkyPhone2000-rel-xxx\setup.exe.

Sky-USB BOX hardware Installation:

Plug in Sky-USB BOX to the USB Port 

„

 

When new device is found, select “Install from CD-ROM”. Driver will be installed 

automatically

Download Skype and account registration: Go to 

www.skype.com

 to get the newest Skype 

software and follow the instruction to install and to register an account for FREE. 

 

4.

 

When Skype and SkyPhone2000 start, system will open the warning windows. Choose “Allow 

this program to use Skype” and click OK.

Skype configuration     

(very important for Skype to work properly with SkyBOX.)

Audio In: set to USB Audio or SKYBOX

Audio Out: set to USB Audio or SKYBOX 

‹

 

Ringing: set to USB Audio or SKYBOX

Check “Use PC Ring” 

„

 

Attention! Microsoft Windows usually automatically configure BOX (USB Audio) as the 

default audio. Please go to Control Panel then Audio and Multimedia to configure to your 

original sound card as the “Default audio device”. It is recommended to check “Always 

use default audio”. 

 

6.

 

Phone Connection: Connect a regular house phone to “Phone”port.   

(Optional)

 If the same phone is used for both Public Switched Telephone Network “PSTN” and 

Skype calls, connect an outside PSTN line to “Line” port. 

 

7.

 

Test Drive: Pick up the phone. Skype window should pop up. Use keyboard and type 

“echo123” and then “Enter”. Follow the voice instruction from the test site to record voice and 

hear the recording. Hang up the phone and Skype window will become minimized.
