While in Standby state, all device alarms remain active. Should a fault or failure condition
occur, the appropriate alarm is triggered and is annunciated. When lower priority alarms are
resolved the user acknowledges the alarm by pressing the
Mute/Cancel
button, the device
returns to the Standby state which appears in the user interface.
To exit Standby state and resume aspiration at the time the
Standby
button was pressed, press
the
Standby
button again.
Note:
The device can only be placed in Standby state when operating in Continuous mode.
Pressing the
Standby
button when in Intermittent mode has no effect. This is done to
prevent inadvertent discontinuation of suction.
Parameter Buttons
A set of seven parameter buttons are positioned on the right side of the device (see Figure
below). The function of these buttons is dependent upon which suction mode is enabled on the
aspirator (Continuous or Intermittent) and is indicated on the aspirator screen immediately to
the left of each parameter button.
When in
Continuous
mode, the displays to the left of the parameter buttons indicate:
•
The suction mode (Continuous)
•
The procedure set (Surgical, Pharyngeal, Tracheal, or CASS)
•
The vacuum level for the procedure
•
The status of Smart Flow (ON or OFF).
Additionally a parameter button is assigned for Smart Flow calibration.
When in
Intermittent
mode, the displays to the left of the buttons indicate:
•
The suction mode (Intermittent)
•
The vacuum level
•
The set ON Time value
•
The set OFF Time value
To prevent setting of a vacuum level outside the typical clinical range, the aspirator has fixed
ranges for each procedure. See tables on pages 4-9 and 4-10 for more information.
Note:
When in Continuous mode, the Surgical procedure provides the maximum vacuum
level.
