Note: The meter turns off after 2 minutes of inactivity. Remove and reinsert the unused test strip
to restart the meter. If the meter does not turn on go to Troubleshooting section.
4. Confirm System Check Screen:
• This display appears when you turn on the meter. Do not use the meter if the display check
screen does not exactly match the example. Contact Zoetis Customer Care.

• If the system check screen does not appear, go to Troubleshooting section.

Code the meter to correct species:
See section “AlphaTrak 3 Blood Glucose Testing”

Start Control solution Testing:
Press and hold c for 3 sec until you see the control solution bottle on the meter display

Apply Control Solution to the sample area of the test strip until:
• You hear a beep and a vertical line appears
The meter will start a countdown (3, 2, 1)
This indicates the test strip obtained enough sample and the meter is checking the glucose level. If
a vertical line does not appear after 5 seconds, the sample may be too small.
