OHSU-4P Card
15.1 Introduction
This chapter provides installation, configuration, and troubleshooting information for the
Optical High-Speed Data Unit (OHSU) card. The OHSU card allows the customer to connect
to Tele Protection Equipment (TPE) in compliance with IEEE C37.94.
15.2 OHSU Alarming Capability
Introduced in the 7.3.0 release is a feature to alarm OHSU ports that are in trouble. Previously,
no port of any User card has the ability to alarm to the main screen. In the 7.3.0 release and
beyond, the IMACS will now alarm error conditions on the 8000-OHSU-4P card to the main
user interface. The alarms indicate the User card position and corresponding port that is
currently in alarm. A node with some OHSU ports in alarm are seen below in Figure 15-1.

As can be seen in the previous illustration, both ports on the 823760 card at U3 are in alarm:
port 1 is in RED alarm, and port 2 is in YELLOW alarm. Additionally, the first port of the
OHSU-4P card in U7 is also reporting a RED alarm. NOTE: the 823760 card is in limited
availability status.
