Figure D-39. AUDIO CONTROL Menu
1) Muted Audio Level
This sets the level to which the received audio will be set when a channel is muted. The
audio may be completely muted (inaudible) or set to any desired level up to 99% of full. Any
number from 0 to 99 can be entered, but because the Model 4010 channel card has only eight
discrete volume levels, the percentage entered will be rounded up to the nearest integer
multiple of 12.5.
2) Minimum Volume Level
This sets the minimum level to which the received audio level can be set using the volume
control. This will prevent a channel from being turned completely off by setting the audio to
an inaudible level.
3) Default Volume Level
This allows the default volume level of all channels to be set to a predetermined level. This is
the level to which all channels will be set when the “Volume Reset” key is activated.
4) Speaker Mute While Transmitting
This causes both selected and unselected speakers to be muted when transmitting. This
selection should be used when a desk or gooseneck microphone is being used to prevent
audio feedback from the speakers.
5) Mute Idle Channels
Use the menu shown in Figure D-40 to set mute conditions for channels that have no receive
audio present.
A. Don’t mute idle channels
B. Mute all idle channels
C. Mute unselected idle channels
