C4 AWNING SUNSHADE
UV Damage
Fabrics can be weakened by long term exposure to sunlight. Under normal holiday
use, your Zempire sunshade will give you many years of camping enjoyment,
however extended use in strong sunlight will cause degradation. Do not leave the
sunshade pitched for extended periods of time as UV damage will degrade the fabric.
Fabrics can be recoated with various products to reinvigorate their UV resistance
and improve waterproofing. It is always a good idea to test any coatings that you
are thinking of applying to your tent to a small test area to make sure they are
compatible with the fabric.
Storage
Before storing the sunshade ensure that it is completely dry and clean. If the
sunshade has even a small amount of moisture when stored this will lead to mildew
or mold forming during storage which will result in unrepairable long-term damage.
Moisture on the fabric during storage can also lead to the degradation of fabric
coatings. Be sure that the storage area is clean, dry and away from direct sunlight.
Damp storage conditions can lead to the development of mildew and mold and
permanently damage the fabric.
8. Pack Away – Reverse the process when packing away the sunshade.
9. When packing away your C4 Awning Sunshade check to be sure the
fly is completely dry and clean (remove any bird droppings etc). Lay
the sunshade flat on the ground with the inside facing up. Fold the fly
lengthways to 2/3rds the length of the carry bag. Lay the pegs and poles
(after returning them to their carry bags) on top of the folded fly and roll.
Once rolled, secure the fly using the supplied webbing straps and fit into
the carry bag.
