Siting
You will need to ensure that you locate your tent so that you have sufficient space in front of your tent to
attach your shade. Ideally you will require 4m to pitch correctly. If possible position your tent with the front
door facing away from the prevailing wind. Also try not to pitch your tent under trees as falling branches can
damage the tent and falling sap can damage the fabric.

Unpacking
When you take your Roadie out for the first time take a moment to see how it is packed or take a photo on
your phone. This will help you when it comes to packing your tent away. Separate and identify the different
parts in your tent. The package should include the following
-
Shade Fly
-
Guy Ropes (Pre Attached)
- Pegs
-
Steel Pole
Pole Assembly
Assemble the steel Shade pole. The sections are joined together with shock cord so just needs slotting
together. Ensure that the sections do not snap together and each section inserts fully into the adjoining pole.
Layout
Unroll the shade with the pole sleeve at the front shinny PU coated side facing down. Lay the non pole sleeve
end over the front pole of your tent. You should have an overlap of at least 40cm. Peg down the pre attached
guy ropes on either side of your tent
UV Degradation
Tent fabrics can be weakened from prolonged exposure to sunlight. Under normal holiday use your Zempire
® tent will give you many years of camping enjoyment, but use for extended periods of strong sunlight will
cause degradation. It is recommended that during periods of strong sunlight a Zempire ® roof cover is used
to help protect from UV damage. UV Degradation is not covered under warranty. The warranty does not cover
permanent sites, displays or for commercial purposes.

Pole Out
Thread the steel pole through the pole sleeve that runs across the front of the shade. Insert the steel pins
attached to the webbing into the base of each pole end. Clip the plastic C Clips around each side of the pole.
Peg Out
Peg out the base of each pole through the webbing loop. It is important that the webbing is taught between
each end of the pole and that the pole sit perpendicular to the front of the tent.
Guy Out
Peg out the two guy ropes attached to the front of the Shade. These guys should be pegged out at 45º and
the pegs should also be inserted at a 45º angle.
Windy Conditions
Although your shade is made from quality materials, it is not designed to be used in stormy conditions.
Common sense should be used when deciding to take down your shade in windy conditions.
