4.2 Connecting

CAUTION!
Mechanical hazard due to instability
Injury may be caused by falling parts.
u
When selecting a suitable table, ensure that the combination of
table and device is stable up to a tilt angle of 10°. The table
must be designed for 4 times the weight of the device configu-
ration.
u
When using a mobile table ensure that the casters have locking
devices.
Read the user manual of the instrument table and follow its instruc-
tions.
NOTE
Mechanical hazard
Improper lifting may damage the system.
u
Remove the key from the key switch on the laser console.
u
Handle with care. When lifting or transporting, take hold of the
laser slit lamp by the baseplate.
NOTE
Contamination and damage to the fiber optic cable
The functioning of the fiber optic cable may be impaired by
contamination and damage.
u
Do no touch the end of the fiber optic cable with your fingers.
u
Protect the end of the fiber optic cable from contamination.

Due to absorption effects at high laser power, any dirt may
result in destruction of the end surface of the fibers.
u
Carefully screw the optical fibers tight by hand. Do not use
tools.
u
Do not use optical fibers and application systems from other
manufacturers.
4.2 Connecting
NOTE
Damage to device components by improper installation
The cable and sockets may be damaged by improper installation.
u
Connect only cables and sockets that are the same color and
size.
u
When inserting the cable, ensure that the red dots on the
socket and plug correspond.
u
Never use force.
Cables and the corresponding sockets and ports are color-coded
for easy identification. All connectors and sockets are marked with
a red dot. All sockets are labeled.
