Instructions for beam adjustment using the motorized periscope
Your system is equipped with a periscope that provides motorised mirrors for the guidance of two beams
of light of either two NLO lasers or one NLO laser and one OPO.
For each beam of light there are two mirrors, one mirror at the entry position of the beam into the
periscope, called "input mirror" and one mirror at the exit position of the periscope towards the scan
head called "output mirror". Each mirror can be moved in two axes corresponding to the vertical and
horizontal dimension. These mirrors allow optimizing the position of the acquired image and the
optimization of the illumination profile of this image.
It might be necessary to optimize the image position and/or illumination due to deviations of the laser
beam pointing especially after tuning the laser and/or OPO.
The SW interface to operate the mirrors is located in the
System Options
tool under the
Maintain
tab.
Scroll to the
Motorized Periscope
panel to have the dialogue available. Disconnect the Tool from its
position to have the dialogue visible also when working in the Acquisition Tab.
Important:
Make sure you always have a clearly visible image (Live or Continuous scan) created by
the beam that you are going to adjust using the Motorized Periscope Panel. Buttons with two
arrows do make a large movement of the mirror along this axis and this might lead to a loss of the
beam/ the image if not operated carefully.
