Deleting corrupt databases
The IOLMaster 700 database management is handled by Microsoft SQL Server. Microsoft SQL Server
has the ability to repair and restore damaged/corrupt databases. However, in some cases such as
instrument power loss or incorrect shutdown, the database/s can become corrupted to a point that it
can no longer be repaired or restored, resulting in data loss. To avoid this situation a regular backup
In the unlikely event that the database has become corrupt, the application software will likely ‘hang’
(not correctly start). To resolve this issue the procedure below should be followed.
Precondition:
Enter the service mode (using Method 3):
refer to section 4.2.1, page 3
Navigate to “C:\Program
Files\CZM\IOLMaster700ServiceTool\scripts”
Procedure (patient database):
This procedure will attempt to restore a
backup of the patient database.
Begin by running
1)
“DeletePatientDatabaseFile.bat”
Restart the instrument and check whether
2)
the application software recovered from the
error.

Procedure (patient database complete):
If a simple patient database removal did not
resolve the problem this procedure will
completely remove the patient database.
Run “DeletePatientDatabaseComplete.bat”

Press “r” key and “Enter” key.

Restart the instrument and check whether

the application software has recovered.
