•
Move the probe tip downwards (in the Z axis) towards the measuring
chamber for the depth dose measurement until it is located only a few mil-
limeters above the measuring chamber. I.e. move the probe tip down-
wards just far enough so that a light gap is still clearly visible.
•
Position the probe tip in the center of the flattened portion of the meas-
uring chamber (by visual judgment). Perform this horizontal positioning by
actuating the X and Y micrometer screws.
Positioning the probe tip exactly using the current measurement
Using current measurements taken with the electrometer, the probe tip can
be positioned exactly above the center of the measuring window in the XY
plane.
•
Start X-ray radiation emission (“Beginning of treatment”).
Operation with the INTRABEAM 600
•
Open the folding shutter of the Workplace so that the electrometer is
accessible for operation. No other action is required, the electrometer is
automatically switched to manual operation.
Warning
If the shielding provided by the water tank is incomplete or if the user opens
one of the water tank covers while radiation is being generated, the user may
unintentionally come into contact with emitted X-ray radiation.
•
Ensure that the XRS mount is properly seated in the rotary feedthrough,
the XRS 4 is properly seated in the XRS mount, and all covers are properly
attached to the water tank.
•
Ensure that radiation is no longer being generated before opening any of
the water tank covers. Press the <Pause> button to stop emission of
radiation from the XRS 4.
NOTICE
The IC ionization chamber must be connected to the electrometer in order to
record the measured values.
•
Make sure that the IC ionization chamber is connected to the
electrometer.
