Removal of Faults
If the lamp power supply or the connected illuminator does not function, check the components using
the following troubleshooting list.
Before starting any work with the microscope illuminator or the lamp power supply, disconnect the
power cable from the power outlet.
Fault
Possible cause and fault removal
Power indicator in power switch
does not light in switch position
"I".
Check fuse F2:
Disconnect power cable from device and make fuse accessible by opening
the fuse compartment. Replace the fuse. Make sure to insert a fuse of the
correct type and rating (refer to
Technical Data
).
Have power connector checked (by authorized persons only).
Power indicator in power switch
lights in switch position "I".
No function of hour meter.
Check fuse F 1:
Disconnect power cable from device. Make fuse accessible by opening the
voltage selector switch (4/
5
) by means of a screwdriver. Replace the fuse.
Make sure to insert a fuse of the correct type and rating (refer to
Technical Data
).
Lamp not lighting; Power indicator
in power switch lights in switch
position "I", hour meter is
working.
Check the overload circuit breaker of the starter (4/

) on the rear panel of
the lamp power supply. If it was released, reset it by pressing the RESET
button of the starter.
Replace the lamp by a new one (refer to Section
Inserting and replacing
the lamp
).
The two following measures may only be performed by authorized
persons or Carl Zeiss Service:
Check of the safety circuit of the illuminator.
Replacement of starter.
