4  Markings on the product

Do not remove the safety markings or cover them with adhe-
sive labels or paint.

Depending on the ladder design, not all of the safety mark-
ings described below will appear on the ladder.

General markings

Read the instructions in their entirety. Additional informa-
tion on the ladder is available online.

Falling from the ladder may cause serious injuries.

Never use a damaged ladder. Inspect the ladder for signs 
of damage upon delivery and before every use. 

The maximum load capacity may not be exceeded.

Do not use the ladder on an uneven or unstable surface.

Avoid leaning out of the ladder's sides.

Only one person may be on the ladder at any time.

Always face the ladder when climbing or descending it.

Never use the ladder to bridge a gap.

The ladder should only be used with a horizontal stabi-
liser installed.

The ladder is suitable for both commercial and household 
use.

Do not set up the ladder on a soiled surface.

Ensure you grab on to the ladder securely when climbing 
or descending it.

Avoid work that involves exerting a lateral load on the 
ladder, e.g. drilling into solid materials to the side of the 
ladder.

While using the ladder, do not carry heavy or bulky equip-
ment.

Wear appropriate shoes while climbing the ladder.

Do not use the ladder if you have limited physical ability. 
Be aware of your health and physical condition. Con-
sumption of medications, alcohol or drugs is detrimental 
to safety.

Identify all risks posed by electrical equipment in the 
working area, e.g. high-voltage power lines or other ex-
posed electrical equipment. Do not use the ladder if there 
are electrical risks.

Using the ladder as a single ladder

The ladder must be set up in a correct position, e.g. the 
proper ladder angle (65° to 75°).

The treads of the single ladder have to be in a horizontal 
position.

When using a single ladder to access greater heights, 
ensure that the ladder extends at least 1 m beyond the 
resting point and secure the ladder where necessary.

The ladder may only be used in the orientation specified.

Do not lean the ladder against an inappropriate surface.

Never stand on the top three rungs of a single ladder.

Using the ladder as a stepladder

Do not use the ladder as a means of crossing over to an-
other surface.

Never stand on the top two treads/rungs of a stepladder 
that does not have a platform and fittings for hands/knees 
to hold on to.

Do not use the ladder when it is folded.

Using the ladder as a work trestle

AB 

The maximum load capacity of the work trestle may not 
be exceeded.

AC 

Only use the ladder as a work trestle when its hinges are 
locked and it is fitted with the table top (available sepa-
rately as an accessory).

AD 

Do not use the ladder when it is inverted.

6  Setup and use

In commercial use, it is recommended to perform an inspec-
tion and record it using an inspection plate before using 
the ladder for the first time (see “Periodic inspections” on 
page7).
