Movable shelves
The walls of the
refrigerator are
equipped with a
series of runners
so that the
shelves can be
positioned as
desired.
Positioning the door shelves
To permit storage of food packages of various sizes,
the door shelves can be adjusted in height.
To make these adjustments proceed as follows:
Gradually pull the shelf in the direction of the
arrows until it comes free, then reposition as
required.
For more thorough cleaning, the top door shelf can
be removed by pulling it in the direction of the
arrows, then refitting it in position.
Freezing fresh food
The freezer compartment is suitable for long term
storage of commercially frozen food (unless
otherwise stated by the manufacturer), and for
freezing fresh food. Do not exceed the storage times
shown by the manufacturer on the commercially
frozen food packets.
There is no need to adjust the controls for freezing
small quantities of food each day (equivalent to

about 1/3rd to 1/2 of the maximum quantity
indicated on the rating plate).
However, to freeze the maximum quantity of food
indicated on the rating plate, proceed as follows:
3 hours before placing food to be frozen in the freezer,
turn the thermostat knob to the coldest setting
(highest number) and turn knob (B) (position « »).
24 hours after having loaded the food, return knob
(B) to position «
O
» and turn the thermostat knob to
a medium setting. However, if the temperature
inside the refrigerator compartment drops to below
0
°
C, turn the thermostat knob to a warmer setting
(lower numbers).
To help you make the most of the freezing process,
here are some important hints:
Place the food to be frozen in the top basket of the
freezing compartment as this is the coldest part.
The maximum quantity of food which can be frozen in 24
hours is shown on the rating plate.
Only freeze top quality, fresh and thoroughly
cleaned foodstuffs.
Prepare the fresh food in small portions to enable it
to be rapidly and completely frozen and to make it
possible subsequently to thaw only the quantity
required at the time.
Wrap up the food in aluminium foil or polythene and
make sure that the packages are airtight.
A special card is located in the holder on the inner
door of the freezer compartment. On the upper part
it shows pictures of different types of food followed
by a figure. These figures indicate the maximum
storage time, in months, for each type of food.
Details of food being stored, can also be written in
pencil on the lower part of the card.
Do not allow fresh, unfrozen food to touch food
which is already frozen, thus avoiding a rise in
temperature of the latter.
Important:
Do not put carbonated liquids (fizzy drinks,
etc.) in the freezing compartment as they may burst.
Water ices, if consumed immediately after removal
from the freezing compartment, can possibly cause
the skin to be freeze burnt.
Remember that, once thawed, frozen food
deteriorates rapidly.
Cold accumulators
The freezer contains two cold accumulators which
increase storage times in the event of a power cut or
breakdown.
For security reasons, during the transport of the
appliance, the cold accumulators are located in the
lower drawer.
The correct location of the accumulators is inside
the upper drawer, on top of the stored food.
Important:
If there happens to be a power failure do not
open the freezer door. If the freezer is completely full
and the power cut is short (up to 6-8 hours), frozen
