7.0 USING THE Z3-MVE-40 TO ENCODE 4 CHANNELS INTO ONE DVB-ASI STREAM
The Z3-MVE-40 includes a Multiple Program Transport Stream (MPTS) module that can be used to combine
multiple streams into 1 UDP or ASI stream. To stream using ASI, the MPTS is required – even if only 1
channel is used. This section describes how to combine 4 channels into 1 DVB-ASI stream. The same
instructions can be used for streaming just 1 channel out via ASI. They can also be used to combine 4
channels into 1 UDP stream.
7.1 Set up the System
(1) Complete steps (1) to (12) in Section 6.0 to connect the Z3-MVE-40 to the video sources and bring up
the GUI.
7.2 Connect the ASI Out
(2) Connect ASI Out as shown below:
7.3 Initialize CH1
(3) Click on the “CH1” tab.
(4) Change the Output Format to “MPTS”.
(5) After you finish, the CH1 tab should look something like the figure on the next page.
7.4 Initialize CH2-CH4
(6) Complete the same steps for CH2 to CH4.
