3.2

 

Connecting the DRS Tamarisk Camera Digital Interface  

The DRS Tamarisk camera requires a DRS Feature Board, which provides a compatible interface to the Z3 
FlexIO header. The Tamarisk Feature Board is capable to provide digital video in LVDS Cameralink format as 
well as analog composite video. 
The FlexIO connector is used to connect directly to the DRS Tamarisk. It provides power and control to the 
camera while allowing for video capture for digital formats. 
The MCX connector on the Flir Camera interface board can be used for an Analog passthrough directly to a 
monitor. If a streaming analog video output is desired the MCX connector can connect directly to the MMCX 
on the encoder. 
 
The only connection needed between the camera and encoder is a FlexIO cable, wired straight pin to pin 
between the camera side and encoder side. Both sides use a JST shell part number SHDR-30V-S-B.
