MONITOR SEND

Each channel has a MONITOR SEND control that varies the signal level sent to the monitor
mix in the MM6. The signal is taken after the EQ controls, so that the channel equalization is
reflected in the monitor mix.

REVERB/EFFECTS CONTROL

Each channel has a RVB/EFX control that adjusts the level of the signal sent to the effects bus.
Normally, the internal reverberation unit is driven from the effects bus. See the section on EFX
SEND later in this manual for more information about this. The internal reverb can also be dis-
abled by a remote footswitch through the EFX SEND / REVERB FOOTSWITCH jack.

MAIN MASTER CONTROL

This control adjusts the overall level of the main mix. If the level is set too high, the CLIP LED
IN THE MASTER SECTION will light. If the AMP IN jack is not used then this control adjusts
the level at the speaker outputs

MONITOR MASTER CONTROL

The overall level of the monitor mix is adjusted with this control. This signal is available at the
MON OUT jack.

MAIN EFFECTS CONTROL

The level of the effects signal sent to the effects device is controlled by the individual RVB/EFX
controls of each channel. The signal level returned from the effects device into the main mix is
adjusted with the MAIN EFFECTS control. The effect device will be the internal reverberation
unit unless you patch in an external effects device via the EFX SEND and the EFX RTN jacks
on the front panel.

MAIN OUT and AMP IN jacks

These jacks can serve a variety of patching and routing purposes. They are positioned in the
signal path after the MM6’s graphic equalizer.

The main mix signal is available at line level from the MAIN SEND jack at all times. Taking

a signal from this jack has no effect upon the configuration of the MM6, so it is possible to
feed an external power amplifier with the main mix signal while the internal power amplifier
also amplifies the main mix signal. However, plugging into the AMP IN jack will break the
internal main mix signal path. This allows you to insert a signal processing device, such as an
ELITE PROCESSOR or a digital delay unit, into the main signal path. Connect a cable from the
MAIN OUT jack into the processor’s input jack, as well as a cable from the processor’s output
jack to the MM6’s AMP IN jack.

You can deliver an external signal to the power amplifier of the MM6 from any line level

source via the AMP IN jack. This means that you could use the MM6’s power amplifier for one
purpose, while using the mixer section to mix down an unrelated set of signals. In this case
you would route the MM6’s main mix from the MAIN OUT jack to another mixer, or to an
external power amplifier.

To summarize, the MAIN OUT and AMP IN jacks can be used as a post-mix effects loop or

a signal processing patch. The MAIN OUT jack can serve as a main mix output, and the AMP
IN jack can be used as an auxiliary input to the internal power amplifier.

MONITOR OUT

This output can be used to drive a monitor power amplifier. The Beta 150EQ is an excellent
amplifier for this application since it has a built in equalizer. This jack can also be used to pro-
vide a second effects send if it is not used for monitors. It will then be necessary to use an
input channel to return the effects to the mixer. The monitor out may also be patched to the
AMP IN to use the internal power amplifier for the monitors. This would be useful when a
larger external amplifier is being used for the main mix.

EFX SEND and EFX RTN jacks.

These two jacks allow you to bypass the internal reverberation system and substitute an exter-
nal effects device. Any signal processor that accepts line level signals (at its input) and delivers
line level signals (at its output) may be used. Most digital delays, reverbs, parametric EQs and
