Installation Instructions

COMMISIONING OF ELECTRICAL WIRES & POWER CABLES

Before installing or servicing unit, turn off main power to system. There may be more than one disconnect / isolator
switch Turn off accessory heater power if applicable. Electric shock can cause personal injury.

Unit safety devices

Internal current and temperature sensitive over load - This Device resets automatically when internal compressor motor
temperature drops to a safe level. When an internal overload is suspected of being open, check by using an ohmmeter or
continuity tester.

Refrigerant charging

Unit refrigerant system is factory charged. When recharging is necessary, Weigh the total charge indicated on unit
nameplate. Remove any refrigerant remaining in system before recharging. If system has lost complete charge, evacuate
system to 0.72 kPa (5000 microns, 29.7 -in. Hg Vacuum) before recharging are available at refrigeration supply firms.

Note: If oil need to be changed or added, only mineral oil for R22 and polyol Erter oil for R407C be changed.

Removal of compressor

First wear safety glasses and work gloves. Shut off power to unit & remove compressor access panel to expose
Compressor. Remove refrigerant from unit using approved refrigerant removal methods. Remove core from suction and
discharge line Schrader fittings (Pin valve). Disconnect compressor wiring at compressor terminal box. Use tube cutter
to cut suction and discharge lines at convenient place near compressor for easy reassemble to new compressor with
copper slip Couplings (if provided). Remove accessory crankcase heater (if used) from compressor base. Remove
compressor hold down bolts and lift compressor out. Carefully un braze suction & discharge line piping or stubs from
compressor. If oil vapor in piping/stubs ignites, use quenching cloth to extinguish. Muffler & Liquid receiver may
contain quantity of oil. So be careful while removing. Install a new compressor in unit. Braze suction and discharge lines
to compressor suction & discharge pipes. Ensure compressor hold down bolts are in place & then Connect wiring.
Reinstall accessory crankcase heater (if used) on compressor base. Clean system. Add new suction and liquid line filter
drier. If burnout is severe, then new filter drier must be replaced after a few hours of operation. Flush the system with
high pressure Nitrogen to clean the system & avoid any moisture in system. Triple-evacuate and recharge unit.

Condensate drain

Clean condensate drain trap with help of bottle brush then flush the condensate pan with clean water. Ensure that the
water should drain freely.
