Advanced Function Module Monitor
5.1
What is Advanced Function Module Monitor
Advanced function modules such as temperature control and P ID modules and positioning
modules have a self-
diagnosis function, which stores error information in the module’s own
registers or relays when it detects an error.
The Advanced Function Module Monitor directly monitors the registers and relays of such
advanced function modules. With this convenience function, there is no need to write programs
that read register and relay data for monitoring purposes only.

How to Check Advanced Function Module Registers
In the online window of the FA-M3 Programming Tool WideField3, right-click the module to be
monitored from the module list displayed on the left side of the window and select either the
Advanced Function Module Register Monitor or the I/O Relay Monitor*. You can now monitor
registers and relays of the selected module.
* A module with the I/O Relay Monitor option displayed as grayed-out has no relay.
