Disassembly Tips

Loosen the pivot bolt, with the 5mm allen 

keys, that attaches the Dogbone to the RateLink and shock. Slide the 

pivot bolt out and pull the Dogbone off the Ratelink. Loosen the socket head 
cap bolt, with a 5mm allen key, that is located on the center of the Ratelink.

Slide a washer on the threaded bolt then the 

catch sleeve (these are all components of the AS-X RateLink tool). 

Slide this part of the tool through the short pin (1.3” long) that attaches the 
RateLink to the shock body. Slide the removal slug on the opposing side of 
the RateLink. Slide the washer and thread the nut on to the side with the 
removal slug. With the wrenches on the tool, hold the wrench on the catch 
sleeve side stationary while you turn the wrench on the removal slug side. 
keep turning until the removal slug presses the pin out of the bearings.

If you are disassembling the linkage to 

replace the stock spring, change the spring and proceed to the 

assembly steps. If you are overhauling the entire linkage proceed with the 
following step. Slide a washer on the threaded bolt then the catch sleeve. 
Slide this part of the tool through the long pin (1.5” long). Slide the removal 
slug on the opposing side of the RateLink. Slide the washer and thread the 
nut on to the side with the removal slug. Place the two wrenches on the 
tool. With the wrenches on the tool, hold the wrench on the catch sleeve 
side stationary while you turn the wrench on the removal slug side. keep 
turning until the removal slug presses the pin out of the bearings.
