and IR sensor: Any information concerning your PRE550A will be indicated here. Point the
remote control to this zone to control your PRE550A from a distance.

Phase: When the PHASE led is off, the pre amplifier does not invert the absolute phase of the audio
signal. When the PHASE led is on (amber colour), the pre amplifier generates a 180 phase shift
between input and output signals.

Mute: Press to mute, press again to exit mute.
Volume control: The volume control which uses a rotary encoder which can be turned indefinitely in
either direction.

Should you wish, you can disconnect power to the digital section of your PRE550A when using an
analogue source. Remember to re-engage this switch when using any digital input.

Connect the unit to the network permanently with RJ45-RJ45 straight through
(not crossover ) networking cable. Use cable suited to the network type, e.g. 10/100 base-T
(most home networks). This allows the unit to be plugged into a computer network, and is
strongly recommended where a wired connection is already available or can be installed.
Standard UTP RJ45 networking cable should be used to connect the unit to the networking
router.
