IMPORTANT!

The battery is not shipped fully charged.

It is recommended that the battery be fully charged before

the initial use.

With regular use, the battery pack will take 60 MINUTES or

less to charge fully. It is recommended that the battery be

charged every 3 months when the trimmer is not in use.

The battery's run time will improve after the third or fourth

charge.

Use YARDWORKS 60-2143-4 replacement

battery.

To Remove

1. Press the latch buttons (1) in and hold them.

2. Grasp the trigger handle (2) firmly. Pull the battery pack

out of the handle.

NOTE: The battery pack fits snugly into the handle in order

to prevent accidental dislodging. Removal may require the

use of a certain amount of force.

To Install

1. Align the tongue (3) of the battery pack with the cavity in

the handle housing.

2. Grasp the trigger handle (2) firmly.

3. Push the battery pack into the handle until both sides

lock. The latch buttons will click when they lock.

4, Do not use force when inserting the battery pack. It

should slide into place and click.

To avoid injury and to reduce the risk of electric shock or

fire:

• Replace the battery pack or the charger immediately if the

battery case or the charger cord is damaged.

• Always verify that the grass trimmer switch is in the OFF

position before inserting or removing the battery pack.

• Always verify that the battery pack is removed and that the

switch is in the OFF position before replacing the spools or

  adjusting the line.

• Read, understand, and follow the instructions for using the

  Battery Charger.

To avoid injury, always remove the battery pack before installing

the guard or the cutting line, or making any adjustments. If the

guard is damaged, do not use the grass trimmer until it is

replaced.

NOTE: Install the protective guard before using the grass trimmer.

Once it is installed, it cannot be removed or disassembled.

1. Remove the battery pack.

2. Turn the grass trimmer upside-down in order to access the

    trimmer head.

3. Unscrew the guard assembly screw (1) from the base of the

trimmer head. The screw has been pre-installed on the motor

   head for shipping.

4. Fit the guard tabs (2) into the grooves on the trimmer head so

that the guard sits level on the rim of the trimmer head (3).

5. Turn the guard clockwise as far as possible, until it is securely

in place. If the guard does not turn easily, readjust the position.

6. When the larger side of the guard is facing the same direction

as the handle, the screw hole (4) will be aligned with the hole

   (5) in the rim of the trimmer head.

7. Insert the screw (1) into the guard and the trimmer head, and

   then tighten it securely.
