PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
68
2V Operation Manual
Perform periodic maintenance procedures in an
open, level area free from traffic. If possible,
perform the procedures indoors to prevent
environmental conditions, such as rain, wind, or
snow, from damaging the machine.
The Importance of Daily Checks
Periodic Maintenance Schedules assume that the
daily checks are performed on a regular basis.
Make it a habit of performing daily checks before
the start of each shift.
.
Keep a Log of Engine Hours and
Daily Checks
Keep a log of the number of hours the engine is run
each day and a log of the daily checks performed.
Also note the date, type of repair (e.g., replaced
alternator), and parts needed for any service
needed between the periodic maintenance
intervals. Periodic maintenance intervals are every
50, 200, 400, 1000, and 2000 engine hours. Failure
to perform periodic maintenance will shorten the life
of the engine.
Yanmar Replacement Parts
Yanmar recommends that you use genuine Yanmar
parts when replacement parts are needed.
Genuine replacement parts help ensure long
engine life.

Required EPA / ARB Maintenance

compliance with the Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA) Regulations Non-road Engines and
the California Air Resources Board (ARB,
California), it is essential that you follow the
Periodic Maintenance Schedule on page 70
and
Periodic Maintenance Procedures which start on
page 72
EPA / ARB Installation Requirements
The following are the installation requirements for
the EPA / ARB. Unless these requirements are met,
the exhaust gas emissions will not be within the
limits specified by the EPA and ARB.
Maximum Exhaust Gas Restriction shall be:
• 1.42 psi (9.81 kPa; 1000 mm Aq) or Iess.
Maximum air intake restriction shall be 0.43 psi
(2.94 kPa; 300 mm Aq) or less. Clean or replace
the air cleaner element if the air intake restriction
exceeds the above mentioned value.
