5. Rechargeable battery
5-1. Cautions and instructions on use
(1) Do not use any other battery than our designated one.
(2) Charge the batteries as soon as the dead battery sign [-bat-] appears. When the battery exhaustion
becomes faster, replace with a new battery.
[Note] Storage battery, when used by repeating charge and
discharge, the voltage at full charge will continue to decline.
You can extend the life cycle of the battery since the early
charge than become low battery.
If you use the scale repeatedly by one cycle that is from full
charge to [-bat-] display, the life cycle of the battery will be
about 200 times.
(3) In replacement, set the battery in accordance with the specified polarities (+, -). Otherwise, the instrument
may break down.
(4) If you do not use the scale for a long period (about 3 month and more), charge from time to time. Otherwise,
the battery is completely discharged and it may not be used.
5-2. How to charge a battery
(1)Firmly insert the plug of the AC adaptor into the jack. Otherwise, the
battery may not be charged properly.
* Be sure to use the dedicated AC adapter. If you use a different
adaptor, the instrument may break down.
(2)Start charging. The battery indicator flashes on and off during
charge. When charge is complete, the battery indicator turns off.
(Approx. 12 hours)
5-3. How to exchange a battery
When you replace with a new battery, take the following procedures.
(1)Turn the thumbscrew for battery cover on the back of the
indicator and then remove the battery cover.
* When you replace with a new battery, do not connect the AC
adapter.
(2)Take off a battery mount cover by unscrewing it.
(3)Replace with a new battery.
(4)Tighten a screw in a reverse procedure of (2). Be careful
about one connector. Then, set a battery cover
