III Setup

Installing the AC adaptor

Use only the AC adaptor specified for use with the scale. Using the wrong adaptor can damage the

scale.  Insert the adaptor plug securely into the jack on the back of the scale.

Charging  the Battery

Allow the battery to charge for at 8 to 14 hours.  The battery is fully charged when the recharge LED

turns from red to green.  The scale will operate for approximately 36 hours of continuous use on a
fully charged battery.

Leveling the Scale

Place the scale on a flat and level surface.  There is a bubble level indicator to the rear of the top of the

scale beneath the platform.  The bubble should be in the center of the circle.  Adjust the trim by
turning the feet in or out to lower or raise the corner of the scale the foot is on.  If the scale is not
level, the readings may not be accurate.

Setting the User Functions

The scale keywords can be set in the user setup mode to change the duration of the auto-off function,

to disable the auto-off function and to set which units (kg, lb or oz) are toggled when the

UNIT

 key

is pressed.  The combined lb-oz mode is not legal for trade and can only be enabled and disabled in
the technician setup mode, detailed in the technical manual.

To enter the user setup mode, press the

TARE

key for about three seconds.  The display will briefly

show “SET” followed by “UNIT”.  Use the

N

G

key as an ENTER or RETURN key, and use the

UNIT

key as a SELECT or TOGGLE key.  Refer to the setup chart on the following page.  Any unit

that is selected “ON” will be displayed, in sequence, when the

UNIT

 key is pressed.  The auto-off

setting selects the duration, in seconds, after which the scale will automatically turn itself off if it is
not being used.  If “OFF” is selected, the auto-off function will be disabled.
