• Never carry the tool by cord or yank it to disconnect from receptacle. Keep cord far from
heat, oil and sharp edges.
• Secure work. Use clamps or vise to hold work. It’s safer than using your hand and it frees both
hands to operate tool.
• Keep tool sharp and clean for better and safe performance. Follow instructions for lubricating
and changing accessories. Inspect extension cords periodically and replace if damaged. Keep
handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease.
• Disconnect tool when not in use, before serving and when changing accessories, such as bits.
• Remove adjusting keys and wrenches. Check that keys and adjusting wrenches are removed
from tool before turning it on.
• Avoid unintentional starting. Don’t carry plugged-in tool with finger on switch. Be sure that the
switch is off when plugging in.
• Before further use of the tool, a guard or other part that is damaged should be carefully
checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for
alignment of moving parts, binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting, any other
condition that may affect its operation. A guard or other part that is damaged should be
properly repaired or rellanced by an authorized service center unless otherwise indicated
elsewhere by dealer.
WARNING: For optimal performance and safety, only use the grinding wheels and accessories
specified in the instructions or detailed on suitable catalogues with appropriate identification
information. The use of inappropriate accessories or devices may be dangerous to the user.
Warning : Use not authorized spare parts of other machines can cause incidents.
4. ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
* Store the grinding wheels in a dry place, avoiding extreme changes in temperature.
* Before operating the machine, perform a “sound test” on the wheel: gently strike the dry, clean
wheel sideways, using a small plastic or wooden hammer or another non-metal item (e.g. the
handle of a screwdriver), and ensure you obtain a clear sound.
If the sound is not clear, check the wheel for cracks or fractures, which would render it unusable.
* Mount the wheels exclusively using the flanges provided.
* The diameter of the wheels’ fixing hole must never be increased.
* The positioning supports and the adjustable protective screens must be placed at a minimum
distance from the surface of the grinding wheel (no more than 2 mm)
* Never use the machine without the appropriate protection devices, which must never exceed
the distances indicated below. These, therefore, must always be reset as and when the wheel
becomes worn, registering the position of the protective screen holder and of the support (fig. 1)
so as to maintain the minimum distance required at all times:
•
distance (X) between the protective screen holder and the wheel = max. 5 mm.
•
distance (Y) between the positioning supports and the grinding device = max. 2 mm.
