Po w er Req u irements
Altho u gh the instr u ment w ill r u n either from an AC
adaptor or b atteries, Yamaha recommends u se of an
AC adaptor w hene v er possi b le. An AC adaptor is
more en v ironmentally friendly than b atteries and
does not deplete reso u rces.
Usin g an AC Adaptor
Connect the AC adaptor in the order sho w n in the
ill u stration.
Usin g Batteries
This instr u ment req u ires the follo w ing b atteries.
• PSR-E463 : Six “AA” size alkaline (LR6), manganese
(R6) or Ni-MH rechargea b le b atteries.
• PSR-EW410 : Six “D” size alkaline (LR20), manga-
nese (R20) or Ni-MH rechargea b le b atteries.
The Alkaline b atteries or rechargea b le Ni-MH b atter-
ies are recommended for this instr u ment, since other
types may res u lt in poorer b attery performance.

Make s u re that the po w er of the instr u ment is off.

Open the b attery compartment co v er located on
the instr u ment’s b ottom panel.
• You should use an AC adaptor when executing USB flash
drive operations, since battery power may not be reliable
enough to last through these crucial operations.
• Use the specified AC adaptor (page 80) only. Using the
wrong AC adaptor can result in damage to the instrument
or overheating.
• When using the AC adaptor with a removable plug, make
sure to keep the plug attached to the AC adaptor. Using the
plug alone can cause electric shock or fire.
• Never touch the metallic section when attaching the plug.
To avoid electric shock, short circuit or damage, also be
careful that there is no dust between the AC adaptor and
plug.

• When setting up the product, make sure that the AC outlet
you are using is easily accessible. If some trouble or mal-
function occurs, immediately turn the power off and dis-
connect the plug from the outlet.
• Follow this procedure in reverse order when disconnecting
the AC adaptor.
• When using Ni-MH batteries, follow the instructions that
came with the batteries.
