The element should be wet but not
dripping.

7. Install the element into the filter

case.

8. Place the air filter case cover in its

original position, and then install
the bolts. 

NOTICE:

 Make sure

that each filter element is prop-
erly seated in its case. The en-
gine should never be operated
without the filter elements in-
stalled, otherwise the piston(s)
and/or cylinder(s) may become
excessively worn.

Cleaning the air filter check hose
and caps

1. Check each cap at the bottom left

and right side of the air filter case
and the hose at the bottom of the
V-belt case for accumulated dirt or
water.

2. If dirt or water is visible, remove

the cap or hose, clean it, and then
install it. 

Recommended oil:

Yamaha foam air filter oil or other 
quality foam air filter oil
